About the Office of the Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer

 

The Office of the Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer is dedicated to ensuring that UCSF financial resources are carefully stewarded and effectively managed so that UCSF can achieve its mission of advancing health worldwide through innovative health sciences education, discovery, and patient care.

The role of the Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer is to:

  • provide financial management advice to campus and system-wide leaders
  • develop campus financial strategies and plans
  • prepare long term budget models
  • conduct capital and operating budget management
  • oversee a full range of accounting functions
  • provide excellent financial reporting
  • conduct cash and debt management
  • promote effective supply chain management
  • assure appropriate risk management and insurance services
  • serve the campus through our finance service center
  • assure accountability through audit and advisory services
